Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Spiral, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be of the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction to use Spiral. If you are using Spiral on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Spiral is a journaling, breathing, meditation, and wellness-oriented mobile app that may include:

4. Your Content

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of journal entries, session records, and other content you create in Spiral ("User Content"). Spiral's core journal data stays on your device, subject only to the limited operational permissions needed for features you choose to use.

6. AI Features

6.1 User-triggered AI processing

Certain Spiral features send journal-related data to AI models when you request AI insight generation or use an AI-dependent feature. This data is transmitted through OpenRouter to the selected model for processing. Our backend does not store journal content; it holds only short-lived operational state (usage counters, abuse-prevention identifiers, short-term request logs) necessary to run the service. 7. Premium Features and Subscriptions

7.1 Premium access

Some features may require a paid subscription or entitlement, including, based on the current implementation:

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, and related purchase providers such as RevenueCat. Billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled according to the relevant platform's rules and your purchase terms with that platform.

Prices, offerings, trials, and feature availability may change at any time to the extent permitted by law.

Where supported, you may restore eligible purchases through the in-app restore flow. We do not guarantee that every historical purchase will be restorable in all cases.

7.5 Fair use and AI request limits

To reduce abuse of premium features (including costly AI-backed processing) and keep Spiral sustainable, AI Insights requests are subject to a limit of 1 AI Insights request per calendar day. This cap applies to each day you trigger an AI analysis while your premium entitlement is active. The limit resets at midnight UTC each day unless we specify a different period in the app. We may monitor usage to enforce these limits.

Limits, definitions of what counts as an AI request, and any grace or appeal process may change; we may update them through the app settings, notices, or this document. Repeated attempts to circumvent such limits may be treated as violation of these Terms and of our acceptable use rules.

8. Data Backup, Import, and Sync

8.1 Local storage

Spiral stores journal content and core app data on the user's device. Our backend does not store journal content; it holds only the short-lived operational state described in our Privacy Policy. Certain features such as sync, purchases, notifications, and AI requests may involve third-party services only to perform those features.

8.2 iCloud sync

If enabled, iCloud sync may store app data in the user's iCloud account. You are responsible for understanding and managing your iCloud account and related Apple terms.

8.3 Import and export

Spiral may allow users to export backups and import replacement data. You are responsible for:

We do not guarantee that Spiral or any feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Features may depend on:

Spiral, including its software, design, branding, text, graphics, interfaces, and related materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from Spiral.

13. Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spiral is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of:
