Is my data private?
Yes. Your data stays on your device. Spiral does not store any of your data on its servers. The app only sends a request to the server when you choose to generate an AI Insight.
How does AI Insights use my journal?
Only when you request an AI Insight, the related journal text is sent securely to our backend and then to the AI model provider to generate the insight. It is not stored by Spiral, and it is not used to train AI models.
Can I back up or restore my data?
Yes. Export is free. iCloud Sync and import are Premium features, so Premium is required to restore an exported backup or sync across devices.
Do I need Premium to use Spiral?
You can journal, breathe, and meditate for free. Premium unlocks AI Insights, iCloud Sync, import, and extra ambient sounds.
What happens if I forget my PIN?
For privacy, Spiral cannot recover your PIN. You may need to reset app data or reinstall the app, so keep your PIN somewhere safe.
